Welcome to my web site!
I'm sorry to report my father passed away on October 19th.
Family was able to gather at his side. Our long journey is over.
After care taking him for years this will be a big change and there are many things to do.
CC Crow will remain on HOLD. I'll work on some roundhouse kits.
I should be able to keep up with Builders In Scale.
We'll see what happens.
I have been producing my Fine Hydrocal Casting and Kits for model railroaders since 1983.
Hydrocal is a dense castable gypsum cement (similar to Plaster of Paris) in which I have artistically carved,
scribed and cast masonry detail to very precise scale. From simple brick and stone scratch-building panels to
complex multi-stall roundhouse, with much in between. Inside this site you'll find information on my castings and kits,
and much much more.
See PRICE & AVAILABILITY
for current details.
Besides just selling castings and kits I'll give you an inside look
at how I do it. My way of giving back to the hobby, not just taking.

NOW IN PRODUCTION
CURRENTLY IN STOCK - SORT OF . . .
|
I wish I could keep everything in stock like the good old days.
But I'm getting old as are my molds. I can cast about half of what I could ten years ago.
And that's half of what I could do ten years earlier. Some of the original molds are now unserviceable
and need replacement, as well as some original patterns are damaged. I'd renew them all but what for just a few more castings.
Or to compete with myself on eBay?
Even the house creeks and groans, asking for my attention which has consumed the last two summers.
I'd post a How 2 on it but I'm too busy living it, my American gothic.
Then my dad's health has been catching up with us. He's 95 and needs lots of maintenance, with
low steam pressure and lots of leaks. He's been in the shop a few times- and under house arrest, currently doing well.
As I am his sole primary caregiver (more How 2 articles!) I've not kept up with my modeling intentions. I do what I can
when I can. Keep in mind I've got Builders In Scale to take care of too.
I won't say the shop is closed- if I have the kit or castings I'll send them,
if they need to be cast be prepared to wait a while. I'm years behind on production of the
HO Ridgway kits and I still have some O-scale Durango and then Gunnison kits to get out. I'm glad to add
names to the list (or refresh them) but yes, there's a long long wait- with my apologies!
And yes, I am working on new projects creatively in the background. Some are very exciting but
I must hold off on production, else those long promised will never be fulfilled.
Meanwhile, there have been tech issues with forced computer upgrades, lost email accounts (see below),
and too many webpage updates that I have not been able to keep up with. It's not that I don't want to. Just updating this has taken
several days.
I am doing a much updated 2nd RUN of the RIDGWAY ROUNDHOUSE and BRICK OFFICE BUILDING in HOn3.
RIDGWAY ROUNDHOUSE INFO
I've also done a lot of work on the Durango Roundhouse in HOn3. It too must wait, but
yeah, someday...

HERRINGBONE BRICK PLATFORMS
I've had my Herringbone Brick castings available for some time,
but always knew I needed to do them in a diagonal pattern as commonly seen of the
Northern Pacific and other railroads. So, here they are in HO.
The set includes four 8" long castings (60 scale feet), one each 6, 8, 12 and 16
scale feet wide. The casting are curbed (treat as stone or concrete) and one scale
foot thick. Easily cut them to fit your favorite depot today.
