NOTICE

MY FRACTURED STONE SERIES CASTINGS ARE CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE.

2023 I AM MOVING MY SHOP. CHECK BACK THIS FALL.

I have created a full line of Fracture-Faced Stone retaining walls, bridge abutments, piers, culverts and castings sets based on constructions techniques developed by the legendary model builder and noted author Jack Work.

Some of my rubber molds and master patterns.

Individual fractured stone blocks are built up into interlocking key pieces that are molded and then cast and assembeled into walls. Those walls then become the raw stock components used to create abutments, piers, culverts or whatever else we require. The system is designed to support Micro Enginering, Central Valley or your own scratch-built bridge models.

Some of my Fractured Stone castings.

   INTERLOCKING RETAINING WALLS

Fractured Stone Interlocking Panels.

INTERLOCKING FRACTURED STONE RETAINING WALLS

These sets of three interlocking stone walls mate together continuously. You can mate two, three or a dozen sets together for on continuous wall, as long as you require. Use them to built abutments, foundations, retaining walls.

Use them to fill in those awkward vertical spaces between tracks on your layout.

They are the same material I used to build the Baraboo River stonework set I described in the Dec. 1990 Mainline Modeler article co-authored by Lloyd Keyser and myself.

PRICE $12.95 per set.

FSW-I - FRACTURED STONE WALL - interlocking
    3 @ 43' x 20' x 12" in HO scale
$14.95   SORRY

Note that the Interlocking Fractured Stone panels require a little fitting before mating together. This only takes a moment, again, because Hydrocal is an easy material to work with you should have no problems. All you need is your hobby knife and maybe a file.

We also have it available in a rectangular sheet.

FSW - FRACTURED STONE WALL - fine
    3 @ 29' x 56' x 12" in HO scale
$14.95   SORRY

   BARABOO RIVER STONEWORK SET

The Baraboo River Stonework Set.

BARABOO RIVER STONEWORK SET

The Baraboo River Bridge was the subject of a construction article co-authored by Lloyd Keyser and myself in the Dec. 1990 issue of Mainline Modeler. Lloyd built the steel bridge and I helped him out by creating the double-track stonework. I now offer these castings as a set or individually as listed above. The Baraboo set includes two large winged abutments and two center piers carefully rendered in my Fracture-Faced Stone. You can either add a commercial bridge deck, kit-bash one or completely scratch-build one like lloyd did. He won best structure in the RPM in Pittsburg 1990 with his C&NW curved deck bridge modeled after the prototype in Rock Springs, Wisconsin.

SORRY- the molds for these are gone.
But you can assemble a similar set from the items above.

BARA - BARABOO RIVER STONEWORK SET $75.00   SORRY

Mainline Cover

These castings are offered to you in fresh White Hydrocal much like a brand new canvas just prepared by the artist with a coat of Gesso (chalk and glue). Just about any coloring medium will work once you perfect the techniques. If you are used to working with plastic or urethane you can seal the Hyrocal castings and it will be just the same. Or you can experiment with any number of stains, thinned paints or even dry-brushing techniques. It's up to you.

My various coloring techniques are fully described in my On-Line Clinics as listed below.
