    LIMITED RUN HO SCALE KITS

While most of my offerings have been in an open, unrestricted, catalog the ones shown here have been offered as limited runs.

In the strict sense of the word I think limited runs should be just that, a one time only specific quantity production. After all, that's what makes them so special. A lot of manufacturers twist these terms to their own liking, either announcing them in ridiculous quantities like one in 10,000, running an few extra few (hundred), or producing second or third runs. That seems well, sort of dishonest to me.

I have always never wanted to deny one of my models to anyone. That is really why I have produced most of them in my open catalog. You can still order my first kit, the GN Passenger Depot. You don't have to look far and wide and pay an arm and a leg for it. It's right here, at a reasonable price.

The problem is this backfires on me. There's no reason for you to get too excited about buying my kits, after all, they will be there next week, or next year. So you wisely buy my competitor's "limited run" kit which if you don't will be hard to find later on. So in fact, I wind up competing against myself!

Another problem for me is several years back I simply ran out of space. It was clogged with my open catalog and I wasn't able to get any new kits out. So I decided to rest some of my regular kits (I'll do them in rotation) and begin to offer some of my new kits as limited runs. Likely I will be doing more of them like this. It only makes sense.

So, if you see something you like don't complain to me if you missed it. I can only do what I can honestly do.

ON-LINE HOW TO CLINICS

  HOW TO CLINICS
Here are a bunch of my on-line how to work with Hydrocal mini-clinics. Each kit includes specific instructions of course- and there are lots of ways to do things, but here are my thoughts, tips and techniques.

  Coloring BRICK
My traditional techniques for coloring and mortaring brick.

  Coloring STONE
With a little practice you can color realistic stone walls too. Here's how I do it.
What are we going to do now that Testors/Floquil has dropped their Flo-Stains?

If you like to scratch-build or just want to practice before you do, check out my stock castings. These are the same building blocks I use to create my kits.
