BRICK FREIGHT HOUSE

Northern Pacific Railroad Brick Freight House

NORTHERN PACIFIC RY.
BRICK FREIGHT HOUSE

The Brick Freight House kit is based on a Northern Pacific standard plan. The model was inspired by the facility I noticed in the yard at Pasco, Washington. It can be used as a freight house, railroad store house (the prototype use) or maybe an express station.

This kit is available in two versions: standard and deluxe, which includes 40 additional white metal details from Builders In Scale, similar to what's shown here, plus several more of my own white Hydrocal detail castings. Both versions feature my fine scale hand-scribed brick walls precisely cast in White Hydrocal. Concrete material and cast ramp are supplied for skirting the structure with a full loading dock in any configuration you might choose.

Concise step-by-step instructions with full-size templates are included.

40' x 60' ( 5-1/2" x 8-3/8" ) in HO Scale

SORRY- this kit is resting for a long while.
Some of the patterns are broken so it's more than just making new molds-

A poor photo of my pilot model. I need to add the deluxe details!

I know, I know, I've got to get better pictures. I'm working on it. Be assured, the models will withstand the closest scrutiny.
I'm not hiding anything. I just don't have the ability to show you at this time.

ON-LINE HOW TO CLINICS

  HOW TO CLINICS
Here are a bunch of my on-line how to work with Hydrocal mini-clinics. Each kit includes specific instructions of course- and there are lots of ways to do things, but here are my thoughts, tips and techniques.

  Coloring BRICK
My traditional techniques for coloring and mortaring brick.

  Coloring CONCRETE
A little gray ink wash and some colorants. It's not that difficult.

SCRATCH-BUILDING STOCK

  Standard Common Brick- fine
If you like to scratch-build or just want to practice before you do, check out my stock castings. These are the same building blocks I use to create my kits.

COMPLEMENTARY KITS

  NP 90 ft. Round House
A Northern Pacific Standard Plan, the ultimate "railroad" model.

  Back Shop / Car Shop
Add this to the back or your roundhouse for major repairs!

  Mississippi St. Tower
An NP Standard Plan Interlocking Tower.

The Safety Hook & Ladder Co.
  Brick Firehouse

How about this little two-story firehouse? It's the prefect introduction to Hydrocal brick structures. If you are afraid to tackle the larger kits why not start here? You will find that Hydrocal modeling is lots of fun and not that difficult to master.

  NP Hotel, Easton
A trackside wooden structure that housed train crews at the base of Stampede Pass.
