This classic brick and stone passenger depot was my very first original HO scale craftsman structure kit. I designed and built it in the Fall of 1983 using a single postcard as a guide. It faithfully represents the depot that proudly served the GN's Oriental Line in Bellingham, Washington, 80 miles north of Seattle from 1902 to 1924 when it sadly burnt down. Two similar depots (Princeton, MN), designed by the same archetect, were built on the east end of the GN about the same time.

The Bellingham kit features over a dozen finely detailed White Hydrocal castings produced from my hand-scribed originals. Perhaps some of my best work. Everything fell together for the first time in this model. I knew I was onto something and so pleased I brought it out as a kit.

All efforts are taken to keep casting quality on the highest level and they are milled to insure a precise fit. No other Hydrocal kit manufacturer go to such trouble for you.

Grandt Line fixtures are provided and Northeastern Basswood make up the roof trusses in a prototypical manner. Full-sized templates and complete instructions are included. This is truly a classic craftsman kit you don't want to miss.

ON-LINE HOW TO CLINICS

  HOW TO CLINICS
Here are a bunch of my on-line how to work with Hydrocal mini-clinics. Each kit includes specific instructions of course- and there are lots of ways to do things, but here are my thoughts, tips and techniques.

  Coloring BRICK
My traditional techniques for coloring and mortaring brick.

  Coloring STONE
With a little practice you can color realistic stone walls. Here's how I do it.
What are we going to do now that Testors/Floquil has dropped their Flo-Stains?

SCRATCH-BUILDING STOCK

  Standard Common Brick- fine
If you like to scratch-build or just want to practice before you do, check out my stock castings. These are the same building blocks I use to create my kits.

  Herringbone Brick- fine
Here's the perfect pavement for around your new depot!

COMPLEMENTARY KITS

  The Original Cascade Tunnel Portal
I guess I should do some more GN models, shouldn't I?

The Safety Hook & Ladder Co.
  Brick Firehouse

How about this little two-story firehouse? It's the prefect introduction to Hydrocal brick structures. If you are afraid to tackle the larger kits why not start here? You will find that Hydrocal modeling is lots of fun.

  The Stone Shingle Mill
is a great introduction to modeling stone in Hydrocal. This is one of my personal favorites, and indeed, one of my most popular kits.

  The Virginia Horse Barn
Another one of my early kits. This one features lots of board-by-board construction on top of a simple cobblestone foundation.
